Following visits to the Fountain of Tales in Brazil and the Leaning Tower of Niles in Skokie, Illinois, both of which are replica objects, I conducted two interviews, one with Brazilian historian Ken Turner, and the other with the photographer Lauren Edwards. For Silvia Malagrino's seminar class studying space and time at the University of Illinois at Chicago, I presented my research and observations on replicas.

Prior to the lecture a luncheon was held to celebrate both my birthday and my recent honorary doctorate from the American Association for the Advancement of Science. The t-shirt I wore during the lecture was a birthday gift from Timothy McMullen.
